The chair is an artpiece, produced for a group exhibition organised by ABC Klubhuis. Each of the 40 artists was asked to create a functional object. The book is a combination of research and technical documents used to create the chair and new images made in collaboration with different artists, inspired by or linked to the chair. The book contains riso and offset prints combined with silkscreens and a debossed cover. A custom typeface, based on the chair’s shape, was created in collaboration with Christophe Synak. The book is bound by an elastic which makes it possible to change the order of the pages and to take out parts that can be seen as autonomous pieces of art. The final result is an artist publication about a chair, bringing together different artists from different disciplines.
